Il Borghino is a magnificent villa nestling in the vineyards and olive groves of the Tuscan hills at Pieve Santo Stefano. The complex (comprising four houses) offers a huge
tiled patio area for al fresco dining with panoramic views over the historic walled city of Lucca and towards Pisa and the sea from the large infinity pool. In the immediate vicinity there are two excellent restaurants renowned for their Tuscan cuisine, while Lucca is just 5km away. The surrounding region produces one red and two white wines from organic vineyards and olive oil from organic olive groves.
Accommodation: The villa complex comprises four self-contained houses. Completely restored combining traditional materials with new technology and furnished in local Tuscan style, the accommodation offers you elegant and traditional living. The rooms are large, simple and finely well-furnished with fabulous views from every window.
The houses have been meticulously restored with energy efficiency and a concern for the environment in mind. Buildings are constructed of natural materials using wood, marble and terra cotta and painted with lime. In addition to gas heating there is a fireplace in each house.
The heated outdoor swimming pool does not use chlorine, opting for the more natural saltwater, like seawater. Drinking water comes directly from a spring. The toilets operate on two level capacities to save water, and the majority of lighting is with energy savings in mind.
Il Borghino is located in a sunny position with a dry and mild climate (due to its proximity to the sea) making it enjoyable all year round.
